The importance of a stay-cation

One- Re-charge and re-energise

The great thing about a stay-cation is that you get to explore near-by areas you haven't ventured to. The combination of little travelling and knowing when you arrive, all that needs to be done is to switch off, proves very satisfying indeed. A stay-cation is the perfect pick me up when you're going through a stressful time. We booked The Glass House, Atlow. Read more about this country haven in the link provided. I feel re-charged and at ease after just one night in the peaceful surroundings of Atlow. Take time to treat yourself and listen to your mind and body. A night of selfishness is needed once in a while. Eat, drink and be happy.

Two- Realisation

Having a night with no distractions (and very little phone signal) is such a detox. We're so addicted to social media, being bloggers and loving the thought of constantly being connected. It gets highly relied upon in my eyes. My main focus was on the scenic views and having proper time with my partner, away from the glaring screens. A night to clear your mind and plan fun activities puts into perspective how good things really are, even when you're not feeling your 10/10 self.

Three- Learning and loving

On the stay-cation we visited Chatsworth House. An exceptional estate with many historic facts and art-work to provide a wealth of knowledge. Normally, at home it would be a trip into town for coffee, but being away allows for new experiences and exploring the areas "best bits". We also managed to treat ourselves in the local shops and finally start the Christmas shopping properly. You kind of "let go" when you're away and have a splurge. Retail therapy always helps in my eyes...
