Kate Loves' Christmas Morning Routine

It doesn't matter how old I am... on Christmas morning I will always wake up so excited, as if I was a little child again. There's just something about Christmas that brings so much extra love and warmth between families, it's definitely my favourite time of the year!

First things first, I usually wake everyone else up super early (my sister, mum and dad), then we head downstairs to enjoy a lovely morning together. Of course, we are in our Christmas eve pyjamas to have breakfast. It is tradition to have breakfast as a family before rushing to open the presents. The family should be the most important thing about the day! We usually have something like croissants or panettone, which tastes extra special on Christmas day, and of course, I have to have a yummy hot chocolate covered in whipped cream and marshmallows to go with it, YUM!

Next, we head into the lounge and start the present opening. As I've gotten older, I've definitely come to realise I get so much more happiness out of giving rather than receiving. I love spoiling my family with gifts and seeing their reactions when they open them. I'd be lying if I said I didn't love to receive some goodies too though! I still get very excited about seeing presents for myself underneath the tree, but there's definitely something more special about giving as you get older! This year I haven't asked for anything in particular as I love surprises. I'm already very excited to see what is waiting for me on the day.

Next, it is time to get dressed and put my makeup on ready for the day ahead. I love wearing a deep red lip on Christmas day, it completes the festive look!

I normally wear something pretty casual, as we usually stay at home for the most part. However, I have been eyeing up some super festive Disney Christmas jumpers in Primark, which I may not resist much longer!

After this, my two older sisters and their partners come over for a while and open their presents. Before the morning ends, we usually just spend time together as a family. This consists of eating lots of chocolate ( maybe too much, but hey it's Christmas, haha!), watching a Christmas film or playing some games. Disney monopoly is our favourite! We have always been a disney obsessed family!

That is my round-up of my Christmas morning routine. Finally, we typically get ready to go out for Christmas dinner as the morning runs on. I get super excited about this because Christmas food is the best!

I hope you enjoyed hearing how I spend my Christmas morning, I can't wait for the big day to arrive this year!
