Food highlights for Summer and where to find them (Malvern & Worcester)

I enjoy very plant-based and vegetarian food all year round, with a few exceptions. When it's sunny I tend to opt for lighter and fresher foods, especially at lunchtime. I love grains, veggies and plenty of fruit too. There's nothing worse than bland vegetarian food, however, restaurants and cafes seem to be adapting their menus and combinations so frequently- it's so tasty now.

We are overrun with eateries in Worcester, however, it's really refreshing to see Be the change open- a fully vegan lounge that's also open for dinner. It has a busy yet welcoming vibe, with plenty of people taking out their delectable cookies and affordable lunches. They've already made such an impact and do lots to combat food waste issues.

THE BEST FOR SMOOTHIES AND VARIETY- Be the change.

I had the berry smoothie with mixed berries, banana and flaxseeds. Although my favourite is a more banana and I think peanut butter based beverage.

The menu varies from scrambled tofu to waffles and smoothie bowls. It's worth a try for even the meatiest of meat lovers. There's something for everyone and it's my new favourite place. Located in a hub of independent cafes/businesses.

Highlights:

A lot of variety.
Plenty of specials and they cater for pretty much any dietary requirements.
Very affordable.

THE BEST PLACE FOR COFFEE OR A BUDDHA BOWL-Mac and Jacks Malvern.

Mac and Jacks has always been a favourite lunch spot in Worcester, however, the Malvern branch proves very picturesque and airy, just moments away from the Abbey Hotel. This Buddha bowl was amazing, filling and packed with so much texture.

If you're looking for locally sourced food, beautiful surroundings not far from gardens, the Malvern Hills and right next to a statuesque archway you need to make a visit.

Highlights:

The black coffee.
Selection of cakes.
The surroundings/location.
The peaceful atmosphere- cosy, and almost hidden.
